Conservation of a marble statue on display in the courtyard of the Timgad Museum (the statue of Empress Faustina the Younger)

This study addressed the issue of heritage conservation and presentation, as illustrated by an analysis of a marble statue on display in the courtyard of the Timgad Archaeological Museum.
The assessment highlights the statue’s vulnerability to environmental and human-induced damage.
Based on direct observations and in-depth research, a conservation protocol is proposed that combines preventive measures for outdoor display, curative interventions, and an innovative presentation strategy incorporating digital technology.
